Event Society was thrilled to be a part of the action for the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. We styled and coordinated multiple events and installations across the Gold Coast, with one of our favourites being the Live Lounge at Marina Mirage.
Our brief was “tropical”, and to create a space that patrons could relax, dine and sip delicious food and beverages care of Fellini’s restaurant in this iconic Gold Coast dining precinct.
We planned a lush space, filled with tropical plants, industrial styled furnishings and a huge LED screen that ran 24/7 for 2 weeks. We are absolutely loving pallet furniture at the moment for it’s industrial nature but also versatility to suit a number of styles. We paired long bench ottomans with pod cubes and coffee tables to create individual dining areas for guests. High communal tables had white Tolix stools perfect to indulge in cocktails and conversation.
With a love for all things a little ethereal, a naked tipi adorned with winding fairylights was placed in the centre of our faux grass area, and a canopy of dripping green cascaded from the round central truss. Golden pineapples and bright floras embellished every tabletop, and food menus were printed onto huge leaves for a bit of fun.
Event Society created beauty in an unexpected way with a lush rainforest appearing in the centre of Marina Mirage. The Live Lounge created elevated moments for everyone who saw it, whether they chose to dine or not they couldn’t help but stop and appreciate the beauty and snap a photo. It facilitated connection to those who enjoyed a dining experience together, and also to those who wanted to watch the Commonwealth Games and escape the crowds.
The Live Lounge was a hit with locals for lunch and tourists for dinner, and an absolute joy to create!
