Everyone loves Bundaberg Gingerbeer. The sweet, gingery bubbly taste is a liquid feast for the taste buds.
You can imagine our delight when we were asked to plan two important events for this iconic Australian brand.
Our services included planning and management of both events, including venue sourcing, conceptual design, catering liaison, styling, floral design, audiovisual and staffing.
We found Platypus Park, an incredible property nestled on the banks of the Burnett River. If you are ever up that way, drop in to visit owner Col and his beautiful family for some good old fashioned country hospitality… and enjoy a variety of water sports options on the river.
So, with a team of over 30 industry partners, we packed our bags and took a quick flight to Bundy to create some corporate event magic.
The first event was an employee recognition dinner, the company’s annual awards night. The “barn” onsite was a perfect location to create a fun-filled cocktail party for staff to kick up their heels. Our styling included branded pallet furniture and an abundance of native flora poking from gingerbeer bottle vases. A cocktail feast from Water St Kitchen was followed by a spectacular fireworks display and dancing to classic Aussie rock tunes.
The next day, a grand clear marquee was erected for a lavish gala event. Pallet furniture was upstyled with eye-catching floral arrangements in deep red tones, and a huge LED screen installed for presentations. A custom suspended floral chandelier was made from pallets and industrial lighting, then decorated with greenery and kangaroos paw.
Guests feasted on a grazing banquet overlooking the rushing river. Upon entering the marquee, cocktails were served featuring the whole range of Bundaberg Brewed soft drinks and sumptuous cocktail food.
One of my fave moments was hearing that in the early days, the owners had to sell their house to fund the business…which is exactly what I did! My little Ming boggles with thoughts of where Event Society may be in 50 years….
We are so thrilled we were able to play a role in celebrating 50 years of this iconic Australian owned company, and look forward to seeing what the years ahead will bring.
